Finaly, someone over there with half a brain...

Long has a hard job. It is a pressure-filled search for the right guy, the guy who will make fans happy at the news conference and even happier on the field.
That never was Jon Gruden nor, for that matter, Gary Patterson.

Whaddya know, all of us telling everyone that the Arkansas job was a complete non-issue were right?

People, quit worrying about Patterson leaving, it's not happening

Those fans on Hogville are pretty nuts. I know that we were undesirable from the 70s-late 90s, but judging by their posts you'd think that we've not changed any of our campus or facilities.

They think we bring 20k to games and have facilities that are substandard. Guess they missed the whole renovation thing.

Just about every team's fans think that until they come to FW. Just as recent as yesterday I had an Aggie tell me the same exact thing. They're either living in the past or living in denial. A guy at the game told me losing to us is worse than losing to OU and A&M because losing to us just isn't supposed to happen-almost like a birthright.

Drew, I call it the North Dallas mentality. There are some in North Dallas that have never ventured much further west than Hwy 360 (Death Star, Six Flags, Ballpark ) but can tell you everything one needs to know about Ft. Worth and the western DFW. They truly believe it is Waco over here even though they have never been. Same mentality going on with Hogs making statements out of ignorance.

Funny you say that, face..

I was on my way to tailgate before the KSU game and my wife and I met 2 strangers, a husband and wife from Frisco who were KSU fans. They were slightly drunk but otherwise polite so we invited them along.

They remarked constantly about how nice FW was, and how they couldn't believe it. Honestly, they said that they had never been west of DFW airport or cowboys stadium in the 10 years they had lived in Frisco. They left very impressed with FW. Kept commenting on how polite most people were, and how the drivers were much more courteous.

Interesting folks and were themselves very polite.

I'd imagine they have a few old soreheads in Kansas but I havn't actually met one yet. Grandson and I drove up to Lawrence for the game this year and were genuinely impressed with how polite and cordial their fans are....same for KState and both Oklahoma schools.

Kansas and Oklahomans are the two nicest and friendliest states in the country (outside of Texas, of course). A perfect conference for us would be the 8 Texas schools, plus the Oklahoma and Kansas schools for 12, IMHO.

Ok, just a quick thread reading comprehension check.....

TCU can't pull more than 20K attendance at any given game.
Amon Carter is 87 years old, is not ADA compliant, and leaks.
A new stadium is planned but will not have escalators.
Fort Worth and Waco are identical.
Arkansas is a huge step up for LHCGP.
Fort Worth is a temporary home for everyone who would rather live in North Dallas.
Texas, Oklahoma and every other Big 12 team should always wipe the mat with TCU.
TCU won't likely be competitive in the Big East for several years.
Wikapedia clearly states that LHCGP is the 2013 Arkansas coach.

Did I miss anything? If I have anything incorrect, please let me know.
