I have never understood the fascination with Ferentz. That guy is paid a bunch, and always gets listed among the top coaches in the nation, but his team is always mediocre (or on a really good year, in the top 2-3 in the Big 10)

As I understand it, and I would appreciate input from any accountants or tax attorneys on here, public tax records list salaries but do not include bonuses and other forms of compensation. So Patterson's income is probably significantly higher than $3.5 mil.

At any rate, if Patterson's only the 9th best compensated coach in the country, then he's underpaid. Give that man a raise!
