I believe the US plays Ireland on Saturday for the 5-8 bracket. So at least that didn’t happen to the US.

I watched all 4 hours and it could have been done in 3. Other than the overlong and weird-o parts, I enjoyed it. I think Paris is just beautiful. Lighting the cauldron was so unusual. And Celine ending it with Hymne A L'Amour gave me chills. I'm sure Edith Piaf was smiling down on her!

yeah - sorry I will pass on supporting something that goes out of their way to insult Christianity for their own sanctimonious agenda... you want people to respect your choices, then don't go out of your way to intentionally insult the beliefs of 2.4 billion others..

Opening Ceremony Misses the Boat
The Paris Games began with a new look and sparkled with Celine Dion. But the show suffered from bloat similar to TV’s other spectacles.

Or maybe what exactly did you think they were doing with this portion of the opening ceremony?
They even went out of their way to include in their performance the popular "Christian" adaption of other last supper paintings where Jesus has a halo - one of the things that DiVinci intentionally left out of his version in what many assume was a statement that all were also common men

I had already planned not to watch much of any of the Olympics. That last supper travesty sealed it. Won’t watch one second. Maybe when the ratings come in, the people responsible for such things — including NBC — will learn.
