I just finished watching the game on TV.

That face in the booth did a joking (whats this?) horns down at the beginning of the game, and they had a full blown, serious face, mea culpa segment that was obviously dictated from on high. The two other dudes just looked on judgingly while Palmer apologized profusely and insisted he meant no disrespect for the fine taxes fans.

Good God. If he had done our hand sign and made a comment like 'bunny fufu', I guarandamntee you there would have been no apology. And the seriousness of it in the booth is what is so surprising. Someone got their asschewed, and the other guys weren't about to make light of it.

Yep....someone in the booth got a phone call....they all looked a bit shook up. Also, I remember Galloway got in a touch of trouble a couple years back when he just told the truth about something UT related.....can't speak no evil about UT if you want to survive in sports media.

Also....at the end of the broadcast the whole crew looked like they just found out their dog had gone missing......Pollock made a comment like "Texas has got to get tougher....they need to beat "teams like TCU".
Pollock, in particular, and Palmer to a large extent seem to believe that college football is only good when the schools with the largest fan bases win all the games.

Why do people read "teams like TCU" as a slap in the face? Teams like TCU play hard-nosed football. Teams like TCU show up and hit you in the mouth. Teams like TCU spend more time looking for ways to win than excuses they lost. If your team doesn't, you will have trouble beating teams like TCU. Why do so many insist on finding things to complain about? Don't detract from a great win by picking apart commentators.

But yes the Horns down ordeal was dumb. Worth a good laugh in my book.
