Probably correct, especially when they penalize a perfectly good hit just because it was too hard. (see Bengals/Cowboys).
Worst case of a call like that I've ever seen. If that hit wasn't legal, they might as well be playing flag football.

And how many years after that rule change increases the amount of knee injuries before they just outlaw all tackling?
They should switch the entire league over to playing flag football or Rugby and be done with it. It's ridiculous. I watched the Bengals today because they were on Fox-4 for once. First NFL game I've sat down and watched all year. I will likely be the last.

NFL has been odd for many years now, but people continue to watch because it is "their" team. Haven't really cared that much for NFL ball for 15 years now.

Reduce the pads, helmet and remove facemasks to help reduce severity on hits.

They used to play football with no facemask and far less padding. There were a few people who actually died.
