Outback Bowl - Several Amazing Events

Very entertaining game. Several amazing events:

1.) Worst officiating call I can remember - Michigan was several inches short on a 4th down when measured and the BE ref marked it as a First Down. Everyone in the staduim knew it was short and yet the other officials did nothing about it. A historically bad call which is probably why he works for BE.

2.) Clowney absolutely blew up the following play to force a fumble - The Michigan OT did a good job most of the day (with lots of non-holding calls). One of those plays you can't stop watching. That will be shown in replays for years to come.

3.) Back-up QB steps in to throw winning TD with 11 seconds left.

Michigan played very hard and outplayed Carolina most of the game. Carolina was able to hit the big plays which proved to be the difference. Impressive win for Carolina but a strong showing from Michigan.

Go Gamecocks! Go Frogs!

That ball spot got quite a reaction at our house. Then, when Clowney dislocated the UM RBs head from his body I almost tossed my newborn son in the air. Glad for the win...great game.

The amazing event from the Outback Bowl will happen tomorrow evening as I single-handedly consume the free Bloomin' Onion provided to me by the USC victory at the restaurant in Green Brook, NJ

I've got no particular feelings either way about either team (maybe a slight lean toward Michigan as Hoke used to coach SDSU in the MWC) but enjoyed the game a lot from a strictly objective football fan viewpoint. That phantom first down was ridiculous (though I've seen worse). Clowney is damn good. I thought Michigan was going to pull it out there at the end. If they had anyone who could actually finish a sack, they might have. Good win for South Carolina.

Sorry for the huge size

As Rasheed Wallace says, "Ball don't lie." That was about as big of a karma play as you'll ever see. Now, if South Carolina would've converted that 2-pt conversion (or kicked the damn PAT, which I knew wasn't going to happen in that situation) instead of blowing my 4-team parlay by .5, all would've been right in that game.

Dammit Riggs beat me to it. Love a good Sheed reference. Met him in the Cowboys Stadium gift shop during the Super Bowl.
