OU Offense: Quick Look By Urban Meyer

To have Urban Meyer say that he has never seen this play/scheme before is eye opening. The biggest surprise to me was how easy it is for the QB to make the one read, even though there are several big things going on during the play.

It is a very good system they run in Norman.
When Meyer left Florida and was doing spots for ESPN, he explained his own spread. Which is really variation of another older famous offense.

Who’s the next stud transfer QB in line after Hurts?

Spencer Rattler. True frosh this year, was the #1 dual threat recruit last year. Stories claimed that he was neck and neck with Hurts for the starting job this year.

Edit: missed the word "transfer." I'm thinking the cupboard seems well-stocked enough at this point they don't really need one, but based on Lincoln's track record he'll have his pick if he wants one.

Meyer is right about defending OU. You can't give up the big play. You just have to make them work their way down the field and hope you can hold them to a field goal.
