OT: Who will be the next Dallas Cowboys Coach? And will it matter?

Well, the only success Jerry ever had was when he hired from the college ranks. I believe he will take a current college coach, but not necessarily Sanders.

My guess after Michele Irvin's statements today that its going to be DS.
Jerry will get all soberly about Dion and that is when it is a done deal.
DS will want to draft his son no matter where goes in the NFL. It might as well be Dallas, then it will be bye bye Prescott. We will see.

Not saying you’re wrong but how are you gonna draft over a guy getting $50 million a year with a no-trade clause? This is the dilemma Jerruh puts himself in when he hands out absurd contracts to mediocre guys (like he did with Elliot).

I think because of the Dak situation it will not be Deion.
Has there ever been a situation where an NFL head coach manipulated a situation to where he was coaching his son? Or has an NFL head coach ever coached his son? Maybe there has been but I am forgetting.

Anyway, I think Deion is smart enough to know that the NFL is a completely different deal than coaching at Colorado. Were he to take a Cowboys job (or any NFL job really) and work a deal with to get Shaduer to be his starting QB and it didn't work out (and there would be very little breaking in period, they'd need to start winning basically right away in that scenario), it would be a total disaster. I think Deion is smart enough o know this. He'll promote the hell out of Shaduer in order to get him overdrafted so he can make more money but I don't think he wants any part of dealing with being his coach at the NFL level, regardless of his posturing.

NFL players livelihoods are on the line, they just wouldn't put up with that stuff unless Shaduer was good from Day 1.

As it stands now, Deion won’t be coaching his son next year anyway. Don’t see how not coaching him in Dallas would be all that different. Maybe if the Giants took him or something. That said, I still don‘t think it’ll happen. Deion’s greatest asset as a coach is his ability to recruit. The way the portal works now, it’s like it’s tailor-made for him.

If Deion ends up being the Cowboys and they find a way to draft Shedeur, you can guarantee that the Cowboys will end up with the best, most expensive offensive line in the NFL.
It wouldn't matter. 100% chance whichever team Shaduer plays for, it will seem like they have a terrible line because he's gonna get sacked a ton. He holds onto the ball forever. Just like Caleb Williams does. And the narrative will be that he has no chance because his line sucks.

A really good QB can make a "bad" O-line look pretty good, and vice versa. Tom Brady played all those years behind a bunch of journeyman guys and hardly got touched. On the other hand, the Vikings are considered to have one of the better lines in the league, but Sam Darnold made them look terrible the other night because he couldn't see open receivers and just took sacks all night by not throwing the ball.

Remember they had exactly that going back to when Dak was a pup. IIRC, think every single starter was a first-round pick and/or pro bowler. They were road graders, and the W-L record was still mediocre.

OUCH!!!
I could not tell you the last time I watched a Cowboy game from start to finish. I may have seen less than an hour of Dallas football this past year. There was a time that I never missed a second
Honestly Turpin is the main reason I watch them now. Jerry has killed my enthusiasm for them with all of his head scratching decisions. We used to go to games at Texas Stadium all the time. I've been to more TCU games at JerryWorld than I have Cowboys games.

I’ve been there three times, all Frog games. Won’t spend a dime on the Cowboys until Jerry fires the GM.
