so how does your link correlate to police brutality?

you sure you aren't related to ticketfrog

NYPD is allocating more police to criminal "hot zones", yet they already defunded the police, but now they have to hire more?

Do less crime and there will not be a need for more police. Less crime + less police = less probability of police brutality.

Is crime increasing or decreasing? Police brutality is a function of increased crime. The criminals have no one to blame but themselves.

You're mad....because they're playing a song as part of the pregame? Not replacing the national anthem and all that pageantry, just because they are adding another song that resonates with some?

Do you also get upset when if they play America the Beautiful?
Let’s see.. America the Beautiful. It’s about America. We are Americans. Black White Brown Green.

Now let’s see…”Black NATIONAL Anthem”. But, you don’t grasp the disconnect?

Let's just scrap all of it. Within 10 years we'll have a 30 minute pregame for the black, Hispanic, Asian, Canadian, eastern European, LGBTQ, teachers Association, atheist, and PETA national anthems before the Star Spangled Banner. Then we'll have to criticize all the players who didn't stand for every single song because they were getting leg cramps.

But I guess if we can't all put our differences aside for the 90 second duration of a song then adding an additional song into the mix seems like a sure fire way to make everyone happy.

If I was Hispanic, Native America, or Asian, I’d be upset. Why aren’t these minorities represented? Are they not also important?
Not enough brown, red and yellow players in the nfl to make demands. What is the black national anthem, anyway? What country are they honoring? Isn’t that the purpose of a “national anthem”? To honor your nation, your country? Is there a new nation that only folks where black skins are citizens? Seriously, what is it?

NFL: "and players may feature names of Police brutality victims on their uniforms or helmets"

Conversely, it is only fitting that the Police should also be allowed to publicly exhibit the names

of any and all NFL players involved in crimes. Perhaps, prominently displayed on all Police Patrol

Cars.

Which lyrics about Lift Evry Voice, a patriotic poem written to honor Abraham Lincoln, do you think is divisive or otherwise take issue with?

Or is it just it's popularity with African Americans that you find objectionable?

I agree. We need to do all we can to keep the word count and the number of posts to a minimum on this topic.
Be brief, succinct, and non-verbose. Check your loquaciousness at the door. Use fewer words to express what you are trying to say. Do not be repetitive. Keep the words and side discussions or elaborations of your reasonings to a minimum. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of brevity. No one wants to hear someone just repeat some ridiculous tale of unimportant information. We must all be concise. No one has the time to read a whole bunch of garbage in unimportant posts. No one cares about details of your reasonings. Rambling posts should be avoided. Some posters have a tendency to be garrulous and long-winded. These tendencies should be avoided. If you feel the need to have circumlocutory posts, please take it somewhere else. People get tired of the constant maundering.
To summarize, posts should be concise, succinct, and ephemeral.

BS. I bet not one person in my town has ever heard the damn song. Only ones that might, are probably lily white as my ass.

Honest question. Not trying to be a smartass at all. I've never heard of this song at all nor was I aware that there was any song that was referred to as the "black national anthem." So is this something that is very commonly known among black Americans? Or are there millions of black people all around the country who are also only now learning about the existence of this just like most of the rest of us are?

Going to disagree. We have a national anthem, not multiple ones. You think it makes sense, I think it is ridiculous. I would just prefer they not play the national anthem at all if we’re going to do this silliness.

We are currently in era of revisionist history or the desire to change history to fill a want. History is history, good and bad. Nothing more, nothing less.

The goal is we that are all Americans and we are judged on character and merit. Now, I see a push by some, that the color of skin is our true identity and we are judged by that and this is now considered progress? All this is doing, is dividing the country and will be our undoing if the insanity continues.

Dividing and labeling people is not a recipe for unity.

America the Beautiful is an American song that has been around for a long time and represents all Americans, not just one race. Like the Star Spangled Banner. This is all a big joke.

The song isn't divisive at all. The use of the song by progressives, Marxists and anti-American leftists to construct this false narrative of systemic racism is divisive. These people don't care a wit about black Americans. The song is a strawman, constructed to pander and sucker blacks and whites into an argument so these agitators can point and say, "see, see...you people hate the black national anthem, so this proves you're all racist."

This is true. I think maybe that's where people are getting hung up, calling it the "Black National Anthem" rather than the songs name. Theres one national anthem, it's the Star Spangled Banner, it's the one we play when presenting the flag. Everything else is just pregame festivities to celebrate the sport and / or the country, including Lift Evry Voice.

America the Beautiful is an American song that has been around for a long time and represents all Americans, not just one race. Like the Star Spangled Banner. This is all a big joke.
Lift Evry Voice and America the Beautiful are separated by about 10 years, both right around the turn of the 20th century. Not seeing a huge difference there.

So, the newest DemocRATic-Socialistic mindset favors each ethnic origin in

America to represented by its own anthem? If so, put me down for 'Scotland

the Brave'.

Playing what is considered the black national anthem only divides us. We should unify around the flag and the SSB. But there are forces that don't want that.

I don't have a problem with Lift Every Voice itself. It's a fine song. A good message. But in this case, it's being used by the hate America crowd.
