OT- Storm

Hope everyone stays safe and this storm isn't as bad as forecast. Having a generator is nice, doesn't power 100% of the house, but for $1100 I got a nice inverter generator that can power 75% of the house by being selective. If you ever do install a generator, have an electrician install an interlock kit and wire the generator into the main fuse box. I have it full and 15 gallons of gas on hand. And if all else fails

I wasn’t really freaking out too much but I saw some weather guy say that 3 inches of ice absolutely means no power for practically anyone without a generator. Said that meant downed power lines everywhere as they can’t take that kind of weight. We’ll see if it gets that bad. Definitely hoping it doesn’t.

Yep, a generator makes life much easier if you lose power for 24-48 hours.
