If you are thinking about watching the new War of the Worlds on Prime that stars Ice Cube - skip it. He just lost a lot of street cred with me for being in this [ Finebaum ]. Predicable plot and campy acting. Preachy, too.

"The Naked Gun" w/ Liam Neeson was stellar. I've never laughed so consistently thru the first 2/3 of a movie. The last 1/3 added more action to the mix - as the film moved to the final conflict and conclusion - but was still great. Plus, it stayed very true to the style, etc..., of the originals. My brother saw it after my recommendation, and felt the same about it. Highly recommended!

Anyone else build up the old Aurora monster models? Here's the Creature! Just told my wife we're going to see the movie if it is actually made.

Enjoyed it as well. Saw Weapons last Friday. Horror is not my genre and only went because it is the wife’s preferred genre, like Josh Brolin, and I’d read about the reception at festival.

I didn’t hate it like I do most horror flicks so that’s a positive. Thought it was going to be a POV marathon but there really wasn’t any POV variance, just additive material and different angles. Okay. Needed more Brolin IMO. Ozark chick did well. Was a bit confused how a story gets to an ending when its protagonists really don’t experience a change. But it was worth a watch and especially so if you’re horror inclined. Just enough comedy to set up the tension.

Did he demonstrate his “very particular set of skills” or other ode’s to Taken?

The Limey. Free on Prime.

Very solid revenge yarn. Soderbergh directed. Terence Stamp in the lead role. Stamp died this week. Various streamers featuring his work.

Also, mentioned previously, Alien Earth is well done. Definitely worth a watch.

I subscribed to Angel, looking for something more wholesome for my son than all the crap he consumes. They have a series on there called Testament that's a modern adaptation of the Book of Acts that's actually not that bad. I think it's pretty much impossible for anything Christian to avoid some sort of cheese factor but it's minimal and well-acted. I was worried how it would go down but as a semi-pro theologian, I didn't find anything worth complaining about. Just finished season one.
