Watched Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F last night. The "F" is for failure. The band got back together, everyone looked old AF, and all the old gag lines were squeezed into the script. Total nostalgia, but no iconic Eddie Murphy laugh, though. According to Eddie:

"That was my real laugh. And then I realized, ‘Oh, they're laughing at my laugh.’ And then it became like, you know, all I have to do is do that laugh and they would laugh. And it was like, ‘Oh, no.’ And I really made myself stop laughing. Like, I don't laugh like that anymore. It's a strange thing as a human being, to have to adjust something that is natural. I can't laugh like that."

I am done with Theaters, but I eagerly await seeing Horizon from the comfort of the Rancho. The negative bleating of the Media bothers me little, as these were the foul swine praising "Disney Star Wars" and the like. Their disapproval is a positive sign for me.
The first two seasons of the Mandalorian were great. I have not seen the third season because I gave up Disney +. I did enjoy parts of Rogue One. But you are right about the rest of the Disney movies: they were awful. However, I do not remember anyone saying anything positive about The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. They were that bad and I can't believe they are doing another Rey movie soon. No wonder Disney is going broke.

I am no SW geek, snob or canon expert but I recommend all of Mandalorian as well as all of Andor, Kenobi, Book of Fett and Ahsoka — very pleasantly surprised all were good with very few “huh?” moments. I did skip Acolyte & glad I did.

Ha! I didn’t think it was that bad!
I was expecting it to be worse than Cop III, and I was pleasantly surprised. They got the whole band back together, the story was decent and Joeseph Gordon Levitt was really good.
B-/C+

I’ll take it after the third one!

I tried to watch Acolyte, but I’m tired of this “we aren’t Star Wars fans so we will make it our own nonsense.”

I never saw the 3rd one and didn't even know there was one until recently. I did rewatch the first one recently and Eddie was the best thing in it..... but it was far worse than I remembered. It was an A success at the box office but a B movie, at best.
I guess I'll watch the new one.

Levitt is an underrated actor. He starred in a great bank heist variation movie called The Lookout some years back. I don't think it went anywhere at the box office but was a first class movie. Rated 8/10 IMBD and 87% Rotten Tomatoes. Strongly recommend.

Oh man. I loved the first 2. So many good lines and the birth of the action comedy.

He was really good as the founder of Uber in Super Jacked or something like that. It was a 4 part series on Showtime.
