For you wrestling fans out there, it's almost time for The Iron Claw! I was worried it was going to be garbage when that pic of how Zac Efron looked during filming was circulating but I feel alot better after seeing the trailer. Can't wait to see this.

All 5’8” of him. Did they go the Wizard of Oz route to make the wrastling look real?

Watched Paris, Texas, an oldie from 1984. Had forgotten how good it was. Screenplay written by Sam Shepard and a great cast including a young Nastassja Kinski.

I agree with you.

I recently watched The Menu on HBO. At first I thought it was just too odd. But I watched it, then watched it again, and now I think it is a really good movie. To me, it is a satire on those fancy-schmancy bougie restaurants that serve you a large plate with 2 bites of food and charge you $30 a la carte. And the people who frequent those restaurants.
Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor-Joy are excellent.
NB: The scene with her in Chef's house, looking at his photos is key.

Was I supposed to type something here?
Just finished The Menu. Really enjoyed it, satirical and funny. Just my opinion but I would rank Ralph Fiennes about as high as any actor in the game generally.
I remember reading about his getting all rigged up in his Voldemort costume, and walking around in it for the first time: "I walked out and a little child saw me, and began crying in terror. I thought, 'Yes!'"

For a fun view of his range, see Coriolanus, and The Grand Budapest Hotel.

I read the very same quote and laughed. Have seen Coriolanus, will give GBH a watch.

The Equalizer 3 — Well worth it!! Go see before it disappears. Lush cinematography, reunion with young actress, excellent back story, good plot, sympathetic characters, zero waffling on all bad guys & an appropriate throwback connection to fellow warriors lost in the line of duty.

I watched The Meg 2 after the game tonight. It’s so bad that it’s kinda good and was laughingly enjoyable at times.

Highly recommend y’all watch it after the next Frog debacle here soon.

My wife and daughter watched it last week (her favorite movie for YEARS was the first Meg), and it was so bad my daughter asked to watch the first one again to "clear her mind". LOL

On the other hand, my wife and I are deeply invested in The Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix. The writing is SUPERB, the overarching storyline is split into separate versions of Edgar Alan Poe's most famous short stories. Acting is great, and if you've seen any of the Haunting of Hill House or Haunting of Bly Manor on Netflix, it's by the same writer, and many of the actors are the same as well.

Highly recommended.

I thought that was an Usher, the R&B performer, reality show and how he lives life with the Herpes.

This. Definitely in the category of "it's sooooo bad it's good!" Wife and I saw it in the theatres, the trailer that had Jason Statham riding a wave on a jet ski with a spear going head to head against a Meg sold us.

Can’t recall if I mentioned Pain Killers. It’s a docudrama about the Sackler family and OxyContin. I’m reading Dreamland by Sam Quinones now and plan to read Dopesick and Empire of Pain as soon as I have time. I’m about a quarter of the way through Dreamland and it is very well researched. Sadly, I know one of the physicians who are mentioned in the book in a not so positive light. He was eventually employed as an executive in Purdue Pharma.

Based on a true story?
Not just based, but almost to T from the historical pieces I’ve read. The Osage were the richest people on earth per capita from oil revenue. Very shrewd people. They were the only tribe to have negotiated mineral rights. It was Former Texas Ranger that put a stop to the killings.
