I don't know. When I had my colon cancer back in the late 90s and undergoing chemo, I wish there had been more options to manage the side effects.

And chemo and radiation have improved a thousand times since then.

Wish I had a better answer. Will be following this thread closely.

Wes, I'll shoot you a PM when my wife gets home. She's running a cbd business and can answer any questions you may have. It works man!

me too.

the last chemo cycle kicked my butt hard and I start another next week.

I'm up to 480 mg doses and its not fun. the doc thought the oil might help. I'll try anything to avoid what went through two weeks ago.

The good news is that the MRI i had on Monday showed no advancement of the tumors, which is what I wanted to hear.

So far everything is working. Its still an uphill battle but I'm holding my own at the moment

CBD oil is amazing. I’ve heard great things about it for people using it for pretty serious things like cancer and other illnesses.

I don’t have personal experience with that, but I am a weekend warrior type who runs a lot, plays soccer and basketball throughout the week, etc. and it helps manage my pain an immense amount.

Stupid question, do you need a prescription? Is it legal?
Legal pretty much everywhere. There isn’t any (or very, very little) THC in it. The health benefits are many but researching will lead you to many different opinions. I believe the opinions are often based on the writer’s opinion of the pharm industry.

If nothing else it reduces anxiety naturally rather than through addictive prescriptions. But that’s just one frog’s viewpoint.

I read recently that CBD oil is not legal in Texas without an RX, and only a handful of doctors can prescribe it. However, I've also read that the law is not being enforced, meaning it's available on shelves and online. In fact, our vet recently suggested it for our dog to ease anxiety.

CBD oil may be where we're headed for pain management, especially given the current opioid crisis. There is no regulation currently, so there may be some question as to quality, potency, etc. with the various suppliers.

Hemp derived CBD oil has less issues legally (legal in all 50 states but still not consistent) but personally I don't see why cannabis derived would be any different, all one has to do is regulate the maximum % of THC (Texas already does for this for medicinal purposes for epilepsy).

Regardless the notion that CBD oil is anything like cannabis is similar to suggesting cough syrup is alcohol. One has to regulate it sure but they are not the same thing. It has anywhere from 15 to 80 times less THC than regular cannabis.

Wes, a friend of mine who is in his 60s has had pretty bad knee pain for some time. He'd been taking tons of Advil or similar. CBD oil changed all that. He's a big supporter. I've had some chronic pain that CBD oil - in a powdered capsul form, btw - fixed up. It also has slowed my heartbeat, which has always been rather fast. I know a few others who really like the benefits it provides. When I asked my physician about it - and he's a guy I like and respect - he wasn't familiar with it.

So, my personal experience with it has been all good, and no bad. YMMV, of course. I don't have anxiety, so I certainly can't comment on that, but barring any medical recommendation from your doctor, I say consider it.

Yes, my wife sells cbd oil. I have neuropathy in my feet and i take it daily. While it doesn't cure it, it sure does help with the pain. If I skip a day or two I can sure tell the difference. It helps with a number of ailments. Look at my wife's web site and read the testimonials. Her website is cbd-joni.com

Would be interesting to see a Satis vs PharmFrog battle royale.

Wes, I hope your chemo treatment goes as good as it can and I am praying for you, man. God bless.

Not sure why you'd think you know what position I'd take on this much less have an opinion worth battling over. I do have extensive experience in the epilepsy market which is where I've most often encountered CBD use. I haven't been in the oncology arena since the late 1990's. As usual on things like this, my only real concern is the degree of variability between sources and possibility of contamination (which exists in prescription pharmaceuticals as well and especially from internet-sourced). From the assumption behind the question, I guess it might surprise some to learn that I am generally very supportive of non-traditional pharmacologic interventions to enhance QOL.

Wes....I too hope your chemo experience goes much better than prior treatments.
