Two games, then a bye week then SMU. Finish the season with 10 straight games. OSU nearly as bad with 9 games. TCU and OSU are the only B12 teams with all 9 conference games in a row. That week off can mean a lot, especially teams who don't have the depth of OU or Texas, who by the way finish the season off with 5 and 4 straight games, respectively. With treatment like that they will not have to leave early.
We could at least be like Oky State and have the fourth week off, or give the league an option of a later bye week if we did not have a break during our non-conference part of the schedule. Maybe it will get better when we get more teams in. We will still have to manage our non-conference better.
A lot of griping on this board about what the AD should or shouldn't do, but that non-conference part of the schedule seems something much more under his control. If we continue play two-bye-play, we will continue to have to finish the season with 10 straight and limp into the end of the season all beat up.....and Sonny will get the blame.
