They were talking regular season. Y'all didn't beat a ranked team all year to get to the rose bowl.
Your statement is simply not true.

Oregon St was ranked 24th when we beat them. They dropped out of the top 25 after we beat them but temporarily got back in several weeks later.

Utah was ranked 6th when we beat them 47-7 in their house. Utah ended the regular season ranked 20th.

And of course Wisconsin was ranked 4th when we beat them and ended the season ranked 7th.

Thank you, wekl. And the truth of the matter is, it is not easy to run the table in any conference. Nobody came close to an undefeated record in the MWC, WAC, MAC, CUSA, or Sunbelt this year.

Not to be too nit-picky, but wasn't Utah ranked 5th?

Absolutely #5 ... and Utah opened the season beating #15 Pitt(8-4) and Mauled Iowa State(who beat UT and TT). We went on the Road in altitude and totally destroyed them. Broboy has the same selective memory disease, as roddog.

Cheers !

So you beat one ranked (#20) team to get to the Rose bowl?

Seems tough.

That is what those announcers were talking about.

The biggest laugh about the quote is "He's saying the teams in the Big 12 we've played this year is just as good as the Mountain West"! Isn't that what CGP is saying too!

It is too bad that baylor was not ranked when we beat them 45-10 that year. We beat 2 teams in 2010 during the regular season that were ranked when we played them Nobody was claiming we beat a whole bunch of ranked teams to get to the Rose Bowl. I only saw stupid people wrongly claiming we didn't beat any ranked teams. But the only relevant point is that we beat every team on our schedule, including teams that were ranked, go undefeated, get an invite to the Rose Bowl, beat a Wisconsin team there that was playing as well as any team in the country and finished #2 in the country.

Actually no, that wasn't what the announcer was saying. He was somehow equating the win over Texas this year as being a bigger win than the Rose Bowl win over a higher ranked Wisconsin team, given the frogs' schedule in 2010 in his fallacious view was "soft." That correlation simply makes no sense. He wasn't talking about the 2010 schedule in isolation.

For me personally, this was as Big as the Rose Bowl win. I dislike (hate) Texas, and it has been that way for many, many years. Of course the Rose Bowl was huge, and I have no beef with anyone who thinks it is a bigger win. But to go down to Austin, National TV audience on Thanksgiving night...it was just as sweet as the Rose Bowl win to me. Plus, the benefits will be huge for in-state recruiting. The Rose Bowl win was historic, but I had no real beef or dislike for Wisconsin really, not like Texas, not even close. Great win for the Frogs.

I don't know the Wisconsin fans were much worse than any Texas football fan I encountered last night. Give me the win over Texas in the Super Regional over last night's game. The stunned looks on Texas fans when they realized they weren't going back to Omaha was priceless. Texas fans seem to believe they are entitled to go to Omaha each year.

Rutgers is undefeated in the BE. Tulsa is undefeated in the Cusa. Kent State AND N. Illinois are both undefeated in the MAC. Utah St is undefeated in the WAC. Lots of 1 loss teams in those conferences. That's close.
