I was standing right there at the ESPN radio postgame show on 104.7 FM (ESPN Austin) and I heard this from one of the analysts and just about went ape. And this wasn't a fan calling in, but one of the regular radio guys who said it.

"This TCU win over Texas was bigger than the Rose Bowl win because we know they didnt play anyone all season that year in that conference."

The guys at ESPN know what the truth is but the real truth doesn't support their agenda....so they use their mass to create a different truth....

Utah could have rolled this Texas team. ESiPN only wants people to believe that UT is great. Our incredible joy outweighs their lack of respect of TCU.

The same idiot host also guaranteed with $1000 bet that Texas would go into manhattan and beat Kstate because they were so much faster and bigger and had better recruits. One UT caller laughed at him, asked him what he was on and told him that if the team played like they did tonight that he had $10k on Kstate.

I will never understand the argument that goes like: "TCU's past success doesn't mean anything because they played nobodies and only had to get up for 1 or 2 games each year."

It doesn't matter...if you WIN those one or two games, you WON them. You still beat the "better" team.

Here's a similar one (using the Wisconsin win in the Rose Bowl as an example): "TCU played nobody, and then had a month to prepare for Wisconsin." And Wisconsin didn't have a month to prepare for us?

Additionally, when deciding where a team should be ranked, it shouldn't come down so much to SOS, but more a looking at each team and thinking, 'which team is better - who do you think would beat whom?' Ain't an exact science, though.

Listen to what the TV guys say about the game, not the Orangebloods who work on ESPN/Austin.

I was listening when they said that also. Was shocked. Come on now. It was a big win, but the only thing bigger than the Rose Bowl is winning a national championship.
