Yeah! tough one to lose by 3 points before a packed house. Frogs were riding high after starting season by blowing out Kansas, Texas Tech, Arkansas and Alabama (with Bart Starr @qb). Both teams were in top 10, and there were lots of big hits on either side.

Leap, as usual you are spot on. TCU was coming in at 4-0 beating Kansas 47-14, Texas Tech 32-0, Arkansas 26-0 and Alabama 21-0. The Aggies were 3-1 losing their first game to UCLA and then beating LSU, Houston and Nebraska. It must have been a heck of a game. I think the next year was when the Aggies won in CS 7-6 in a storm where for awhile nobody could see the field. TCU supposedly scored another td but the refs couldn't see it. Those were some great days for the SWC.

My earliest program is from the 1936 Sugar Bowl between TCU and LSU. I should mention again, that if anyone has any TCU Bowl Memorabilia they're willing to sell, I'm definitely interested.

Thanks!

Those two losses to Ags are my worst memories. The Frogs of '55 and '56 were legitimate threats for NC's, but the Ags ( and the refs ) stopped all momentum both years. For the record, Swink made 2 td's that were not counted and an interception in the end-zone during A&M's lone td drive was not allowed. All in the hurricane of '56.
