Okay, people, let's get this out of the way...

NubomTurk

Tier 1

Strangely enough, I really don't feel like that this morning.

Mrs. Turk astutely observed this morning that, "You know, we really weren't even supposed to be in that bowl game to begin with," and she's right.

Anybody remember what we felt like after Casey left? I wasn't expecting another win all season. And then we stomped Baylor, stole a W against all the odds from WV, and exacted justice on the Whorns.

IMHO, this was probably the greatest coaching job of Gary Patterson's career.

It's one game, people, and the future looks bright.

We simply have to get better across the board in order to compete. The team played well through the adversity but it needs to take the next step and let's hope it does.

Very frustrated by this loss. Normally okay on losses to a "better" opponent, such as OU or K State. Give them their props and just say maybe next time.
This loss hurts because M. State shouldn't have even been within sniffing distance of us.
Our D played their tails off again with nothing to show for it again
Our QB and OL issues MUST be fixed/changed/addressed in off season or LSU will steam roll us next August. Defense only play will not win games in the Big 12 or against LSU.

I like Boykin's toughness and heart. He however is not an accuarate passer.Unless he has major improvement in offseason,HCGP is going to have to bring back Pachall,or go to Mathews in 2013 IMO.This type of offensive play we have been rolling out in 2012 is a non starter for next season if we want to compete for championships in the Big 12.

The future only looks bright if a certain player is playing quarterback next year. Period.

And while I've never even seen Tyler Matthews throw one pass, there is just no way on God's green earth that he can't be better at throwing the ball than Boykin.

I know what you're saying, Turk. I told our crew in first half of ISU game that "we may have seen our last win." (SMU) So I was so proud and glad I made the trip to Baylor. Then came the escape in Morgantown and the beatdown in Austin. So yes, our young, beleaguered Frogs came back for some nice wins and made a bowl. Still it was a game we should've won. Just hope it makes the team hungrier in '13.

As sick as it made me to lose that game, I had a great sense of relief that the season was finally over.
The next hurdle will be to try and finish up recruiting on the heels of that offensive(less) display.
Then the bigger hurdle will be to hope that we get a OC with a clue.

How ironic it would be to go to Tempe and lost the Fiesta Bowl to build a team that won the Rose Bowl the next year and finished No. 2 in the polls. Then go to Tempe and lose the BWWB and turn around and finish No. 1 the next year. Hmmm.

With all the talk about Casey coming back next year, I didn't like the idea of Boykin just getting pushed aside after all his hard work.
But after last night, reality has won out and I hope Casey returns in a blaze of glory and leads us to great things next year. Boykin will be a great backup QB and perhaps a terrific starter the following year.

Even more ironic is the fact that the BCS Championship will be played in Pasadena next year. Destiny?

I want no part of LSU if a certain player is the qb next year...could be our first shutout since 1991 or something like that ugh.

I feel like crap. MSU was not a good team. we were better and had the game in hand if it were not for one player.

GildedFrog! Get off the kid's back! I can promise you NO ONE and I mean NO ONE feels worse about the events of that game than the young man you are criticizing. Move on, bud!

It was disappointing but I think it just makes this team hungrier next year. Pretty much the entire defense returns, we have some really good transfer talent, and all these young guys who played their hearts out are going to be older, bigger but already have some really good experience under their belts. We beat Texas and WVU in their houses and took OU to the wire. We have one of the best coaches in the country. Even if Casey doesn't come back (which I hope he does) Boykin will improve. Waymon James will come back and take our running game back to where it was in past years.

I have decided that the football gods demanded payment for getting us into the Big 12, and this trying season was our payment. We can now move forward. The future is bright!
