Another way to look at it: Sonny isn’t bringing a lot of his SMU staff because he’s confident he could build a better staff at TCU given the far superior resources and job platform it provides.

This also has the benefit of being true.

So my main question is then, and you may not be privy to this or maybe these conversations are not too deep yet, will he be retaining any of the current staff or not?

If history tells us anything we are probably in for anther stretch of hires and fires before we find anyone with staying power lose GP. Prior to GP we had exactly three other successful coaches that stuck around; Schmidt, Meyer and Martin.

If I learned anything from this process, it's that the TCU job isn't as good of a job as most of us think/thought it was.

I don’t think that’s the primary issue. Dummy AD and search committee took swings at guys who had their eyes on other prizes
