In the trading world that would be called picking up pennies in front of a steam roller.Question... Anybody ever tried to just bet big money on favorites (money line) all year? Just pulling a 10% return per bet, say $3k per bet returning $300, and just roll home?
Is this just for the normal 12-game regular season I would assume? Or does it include CCGs as well?
Yeah, I do see where your coming from. But if Harbaugh is going to produce, now is the time with Ohio State slightly down and go 2-2 in those 4 games you mention resulting in 10-2.michigan is the one i just struggle with as i just don't completely trust harbaugh offensively or they have learned from prior mistakes defensively.
toss-up games for me with the wolverines are:
@ wisconsin
@ psu then followed by home w nd
home with ohio state.

Astros are approaching that level of favorite as they play the AL doormats.Last year if a $100 per game bettor placed a ML bet on every ML favorite of -500 or higher they would have lost $2,130
$100 bettor on -1000 favorites would have lost $1,600
Astros are approaching that level of favorite as they play the AL doormats.
Favorites of $400+ are 15-5 currently I think I heard this year (producing lost units as you mentioned)
They were -440 last night and squeezed out 5-4 win, Wow...
Michigan is going to lose to Army in week 2.michigan is the one i just struggle with as i just don't completely trust harbaugh offensively or they have learned from prior mistakes defensively.

Somewhere there's a Michigan fan on a forum making the same exact statement about TCU and GP.....
While in Vegas last week, the kind folks at the D’s Circa Sports Book gave me even odds on the Frogs over 7 1/2 wins for well over their maximum bet limit. By comparison, the vaunted Super Book at the Westgate had the Frogs at -120 and, based upon past experiences there, would’ve worsened those odds had I wanted to bet more than the max. Similarly, the overrated book at the South Point wouldn’t even take a bet on the Frogs nor would any of the pathetic Boyd properties. The D’s visionary owner, Derek Stephens, is quickly establishing his new sports book as the very best in Vegas as well as revitalizing the whole downtown strip. Kudos to him.I got it at -105 a few days ago. Betonline still has it at -105 and the under at -115.

I think you misunderstood me. The Frogs are not even listed on the Total Wins sheet at South Point nor at the Boyd properties so they won’t take bets either way on them. And, yes, the Westgate (when it was LVH) changed the odds against me four times a few years ago when I was making futures bets on the Frogs (I know I should’ve gone elsewhere after placing my first bet but I had a plane to catch). Furthermore, Sam’s Town (which takes its marching orders from the Orleans) limited the amount I wanted to bet a few months ago on the Clemson money line in the national championship game and then worsened the odds against me before they accepted a second bet from me on Clemson (once again, sadly, I was on my way out of town). So I apologize if I didn’t express myself clearly in my last post but please don’t accuse me of spreading “false information.” I was just relating how pleased I was with the way I was treated at the D last week. The sports book’s supervisor there simply asked me how much I wanted to bet on the Frogs in excess of their stated maximum bet at even odds and he accepted my bet. As noted, that has not been my experience at other Vegas casinos. Don’t doubt Derek Stephens. He really is running an old-fashioned book that gives the gambler a fair shake. Give the D a shot yourself if you don’t believe me.Hard to believe this. Unless you randomly put down 5 figures, I can’t see your bet causing an ordeal at south point.
It sounds like you’re claiming your large bet would’ve somehow moved the line from current juice.
Not sure what the point of spreading false information is. Frogs opened at +120 on the over and this was bet down to even (+100) with higher than expected money from sharps and/or commoners.
The lines are not that different across major sportsbooks in Vegas. Caesar’s & Westgate opened without TCU 7.5 for +120 and +130.

First of all, I know that Chris Andrews has been sick and I wish him well. I read his book, "Then One Day: 40 Years of Bookmaking in Nevada," and recommend it highly. I also have great respect for Jimmy Vaccaro and I realize he just moved back to Vegas recently. But for all the hype it gets, the South Point should be more than just a one-or-two-man operation. Plus, you can't smoke stogies in their book, which is bogus. So I'll stand by my comment that it's "overrated."I can understand the south point lack of lines because they lost a bookmaker (temporarily) to the Rivers in Pittsburgh as he helped opened the book or promote it and returned to south point very recently
Their other bookmaker has had a very public bone marrow transplant and recovery...so no need to criticize their book.
I think you might’ve been mistaken for a bet runner...typically books will reject large bets from people they don’t know...giving you an adjusted juice isn’t that crazy
