OC Register: USC travels to TCU seeking signature nonconference basketball win

LOS ANGELES — The USC men’s basketball returned home from its trip to the Orlando Invitational with two wins and a loss, coming in third place.

It was, as the record suggests, a mixed result for the Trojans. Yes, they came away with a winning record at the tournament, but failed to get a signature win. A blowout of Fairfield was no surprise, and a win over Harvard was good but not great, with the Crimson ranked 99th in the KenPom rankings.

The lone opportunity for a big non-conference win was against Marquette, but the Trojans came up woefully short in a 101-79 loss.
