Sorry, but the obsession some have about the decisions of 18-year olds is creepy to me.

I don't follow recruiting, don't pay attention to NSD, and never look at depth charts.

All I care about is who's on the field on gameday.

So how many more spots do we have? I heard Fiesty state 25 spots and we have 21 verbals to this point so that makes 4. Does that sound right?

There's a junior at our HS being recruited by Texas State. He's pretty interesting but that's about all I can legally say.

The part I really like is the instant a kid we've had a stiffy over for months chooses a different school, he becomes a middling talent with character issues who we never wanted in the first place ...

The only time I ever cared about recruiting was when I was in high school and I knew the guys who were getting recruited ...

Same here. I'm waiting to hear what school the kid across the street from me chooses tomorrow. Won't be a headline-making Big 12 or D-1 commit; but it will mean a full ride scholly for a good kid.

Amen. I believe one of my very first posts on here about 8 years ago was something like, "Tell me all about them when they crack the starting lineup."

Stalking high school fb players and hanging on every move they make is the very definition of creepy.

I find it amusing that we're rippng a kid (Billings) for buying the same story from Baylor that our basketball coach is currently selling. Immediate playing time, be part of turning something around, leaving a legacy

Don't forget playing close to home.

We were a perennial top 25 team for a decade with 2-3 star recruits for a decade, if you buy the legitimacy of recruiting rankings, which I don't, but that's another discussion. Maybe this is the most naive post ever written on an internet board in the history of ever, but I figure any 4 stars were now getting are icing on the cake.

I truly hoped that we were better than Baylorfans.

Alas, we're not. We've lowered ourselves to labeling Briles a scumbag and cheater, which is what bfans have been saying about GP for about a decade now.

National Signing Day is the worst college football milestone day there is. Old farts acting like jilted teenaged girls over adolescent boys, no football to enjoy for another six months or so, it's cold, there's no turkey or pie, and there's no parade. Blah.

I've said a couple of those words, but it doesn't necessarily have to do with recruiting. Been my opinion since he was at Stephenville and every once in a while my opinion gets the best of me.

I have many friends that attended Baylor and a good level of respect for the school, but the fact that they've hitched their wagon to him gives me pause.

Hey now! I resemble that remark!

I enjoy following the kids that are commited to TCU because then they're more than just a name and a number to me when they go out on the field. I do agree though that it's somewhat creepy how some people (especially SEC fans) obsess over the decisions of 17-year-olds. I also wish no ill will towards any young man who chooses a different school over TCU. We'll be just fine without them and I hope that they find success at whatever school they choose.

Don't get me wrong...you are certainly entitled to your opinion and it may very well be valid. It's inevitable that these things will bubble to the surface near signing day, but it makes everyone look petty when it happens when we lose a recruit.

I have no contempt for any college football coaches, even those who coach our rivals. I admire most of them. It's a very difficult job. Thus, it's hard for me to understand the contempt often expressed by fans who've probably never spent any time with those coaches.
