I think you just perfectly described college athletics, yeah. So, every time my eyes see something better, I need to stomp my feet, get mad at the AD, and cry that we need to build something better?

The roof completely covering the upper deck would be nice and might add 30 people to the 500 that show up now on Sat Sun. TCU baseball tickets on the weekend are the cheapest “entertainment” in DFW.I look forward to some upgrades at Lupton which I really hope means additional seating down the first base line.
Let's get more fans in the main grandstand seats. That would be a nice upgrade IMO.
Lupton's a decent facility. Make some improvements now and look at and plan for a new facility down the road.
There are only so many dollars to go around. And a lot of dollars are having to go to new budget lines.
While this may be accurate, I can't imagine the average FW baseball fan is factoring this into his decision to go to a TCU game or not.Have you been to any other college baseball stadium? Off the top of my head, Baylor, OSU, BYU, Coastal Carolina, Southern Miss, ECU, Wichita State, and SDSU all have significantly nicer stadiums than Lupton.
How much money are you donating? When it’s something that’s been promised to the coaches, players, and fans for the last 10+ years, and the brand new AD says “nah we’re good”. Yeah, I’ve got beef with that. When all these schools who don’t care all that much about baseball and have less money than we do have nicer facilities than a program we supposedly take pride in, yeah I don’t find that acceptable.
Not trying to bite your head off. Just frustrated after broken promises and watching our program slide into mediocrity in the last few years.
Giggle at the schools you happened to mention. By any measure of recent years, we've been to as many or more CWS (1 since 2020, 3 since 16, 5 since 05) all of those schools combined.Have you been to any other college baseball stadium? not comfortable sharing that, but a not insignificant amount. How much money are you donating?
Went to Reckling twice in 2004 (The Broadway year), it was quite nice. Have not been back since.I admit to being taken aback with the all aluminum structure back in 2005-06. I was expecting Reckling Park (Rice). Reckling is All brick and stone, with wide concourses and plenty of fan comfort features. But, Lupton is a great venue really. It is showing age and some of it's features are mickey mouse. The vip gathering areas past both dugouts are good to have but honestly cheesy looking on TV. Make those areas true custom box areas with real seating to go with the back bar chitchat space. Like others have said, more roof covering, more fan comfort, spruce up the tired outside look. And if the players and coaches need something bigger and better underneath that we don't see... get it for them.
PS: Reckling has aged poorly
Best part of Reckling was being within earshot of Wayne Graham.Went to Reckling twice in 2004 (The Broadway year), it was quite nice. Have not been back since.
Can't giggle at Coastal Carolina considering that program is solid and has won a CWS title.Giggle at the schools you happened to mention. By any measure of recent years, we've been to as many or more CWS (1 since 2020, 3 since 16, 5 since 05) all of those schools combined.
That’s part of my point. Schools with little to no success have invested in nicer ballparks than us.Giggle at the schools you happened to mention. By any measure of recent years, we've been to as many or more CWS (1 since 2020, 3 since 16, 5 since 05) all of those schools combined.
Guessing you haven’t tried to watch a game from the “natural seating” down the right field line.I've got no problem with the current stadium. Looks decent, seats the right amount, and unique natural seating that looks pretty fun for families/kids.
I remember going there in 2007 for Rice Regional AKA "The Wayne Graham Invitational".Went to Reckling twice in 2004 (The Broadway year), it was quite nice. Have not been back since.
We beat Baylor in the first game, right?I remember going there in 2007 for Rice Regional AKA "The Wayne Graham Invitational".
Yes.We beat Baylor in the first game, right?
Just keep going all the way out to right field. I'm usually on the top row of of the berm out there, like right CF area. It's a great view of the whole field. It's just a long ass walk to concessions and the bathroom.Guessing you haven’t tried to watch a game from the “natural seating” down the right field line.
Well yeah that's my point. Gotta go all the way to the friggin foul pole to see the batter.Just keep going all the way out to right field. We attended the first game against Baylor, and skedaddled for our favorite beer joint nearby just after the strikeout that ended the game. The groaning disappointment from the Baylors was a sweet, sweet sound considering all their chirping throughout the game.Yes.
Then lost to Rice after a long rain delay. In the first inning of the Rice game, Austin Adams made a diving catch and was covered with mud.
The Frogs eliminated Baylor on Sunday thanks to a grand slam home run by the oft injured Matt McGuirk.
CJS once said McGuirk could hurt himself walking across the street.
And at the expense of TCU, remember....Can't giggle at Coastal Carolina considering that program is solid and has won a CWS title.
