Horny toads make a comeback in Texas wilds, San Antonio Zoo celebrates milestone
by Christopher Hoffman
SAN ANTONIO - The “horny toads” are back, and they are not just surviving in Texas wildlands, they are thriving.
The San Antonio Zoo is celebrating a big win in its Texas horned lizard reintroduction program after multiple zoo-raised lizards were spotted in the wild long after release, including one discovery that may point to something even bigger: a new generation born outside captivity.
