I don't know if it's just me but I noticed in two players, Jordan Moore, Devonte Fields, have increased in physical size since the start of the season.

I remeber CGP saying before the season started how the players were getting bigger physically.

But Jordan really stuck out with me the other night in arm size since he came to TCU.

This summer GP said the new weight room really was showing up in how the players looked. And remember, this will be the first Spring semester with that facility! I look for a huge improvement with Fields and Collins...and BJ, etc.

They have come a long long way but in most cases, these kids still have high school strength and need a little more time to get "college" strength.

Let them spend an off season in the weight room and I think we'll be amazed at how they are looking

I can almost guarantee you've seen me considering I work there, and I severely doubt I can do one-armed push-ups.

I try and make it there to actually lift about 3 times a week.

And yes, Wes, you gotta keep the ladies off of you, since you're usually up there on the ellipticals with all of them :)

Let's not forget the strength staff. They are very strong as well. Pun intended.

Quite true. It is not the facility, it is the staff. I have worked with these guys and they are first rate. Most folks would be surprised at how elementary the training equipment actually is in the varsity weight room. The power rack, free weights, and resistance bands are the mainstays down there, not the fancy machines you see in most commercial gyms.

I've visited the US Olympic Weightlifting training facility, it's great.

6 wooden platforms, with barbells on them.

6 squat racks.

Lots of heavy rubber plates.

Bowls with powdered chalk beside each platform them.

That's it.

Like I said, GP said the new facility had made a noticeable difference after just a summer. The strength staff is great, it just is now they have facilities which allow more time on the weights.

Just curious, how does the new facility make for more time with the weight training?

Just a curiosity, are there public or alumni memberships available in case I retire in FW one of these days? Or do you just let Wes slip in the side door?
