New AD may be inbound

That phrase "the highest level of revenue sharing" somehow sounds familiar and seems to refer to some kind of standard or guideline. Is there a number, a percentage, a maximum, a limit that is an industry "highest level?" Or is it limited to as much as can be scraped together or promised by an institution and its supporters?
No sure. I read somewhere that they are starting at a max $21 or $22 million? Which is set by a standard % of power 5 conferences revenue and is subject to be updated in the future.

My knowledge base is essentially "I read somewhere" as well... But when one college sophomore (?) purportedly has an NIL of around $8 million I get the feeling I must've missed something in the fine print.

Was I supposed to type something here?
Because academy programs are a different animal.
Oh, so anyone connected with the Academies should be shunned? That's crap.

The job of an AD is to guide the entirety of the Athletics Programs, fundraise, and promote and see to the standing of your Programs amongst your peers. Reading the guy's bio on the GoFrogs announcement indicates that he has successfully done these things, very successfully indeed.

The difference is if the NIL deal is from an outside company or person or if it’s thru the upcoming school collectives that are based upon revenues. No limits on those “outside” NIL deals or the total amount of NIL money that can be allocated.

NIL and Revenue sharing are two different things. RS comes from the university. NIL from donors (or outside business). As I understand it.

"Alright, folks, before we shuffle up and deal, let’s set the stakes: we’re playing no-limit Texas hold 'em with a joker as a wild card, and I want to see a straddle on the button, so let’s keep the action hot. Remember, if you’re in the game, you’re in for at least three bets, and don’t even think about slow-playing those aces unless you want to get burned by the river!"

Dude, it’s an interview for press.

This is an NIL/Portal world. He has not really dealt with that. Other than keeping a good coach, he does not have the experience at this level of insanity.

He did raise some money up their, but Army alumni are like union workers, they hand it over without a thought.
You are correct, Sir.

Had a LONG conversation with someone with in the Athletic Department. This person made me feel really good about the hire. I was WRONG about this guy. He will do great things for TCU and get the athletic department cleaned up!
That's very good news!

Will there be a welcoming party, or some official event?

Wait, has there been bigger problems in the department than the little bit we have heard about?

Not thrilled of the hire but wish him the best. At least he does not have to deal with flag officers here.

I know nothing about the dude except he has worked at Furman and West Point but if you want your AD to be an NIL generator and corporate smooooozzer, this seems like an odd hire, no?

I mean does West Point even have NIL deals?

Someone that knows far more about this guy, lay out the positives please, thanks.
I believe Danny Morrison came here from Furman. Danny is friends with VB no doubt. Perhaps DM helped with vetting. DM was outstanding.

I thought tha guy that walks and talks with Sonny during the games ( the only guy Sonny talks to) was our GM, personnel director.

With all due respect, you should research a little bit (as Double D did), rather than just using your bias to assume he won't do well.
A. Don’t assume I didn’t do some research on the choice. B. Don’t assume someone on the inside is going to give something other than the company line. (I don’t even make that assumption with 2 well connected West Point graduates I spoke to) C. Read the post you replied to again.
