I'd say you are the one skating here. If you want to comment on, and focus on it being a publicity stunt, then stick with that. But no, YOU wanted to add the hyperbole of having "NEVER" seen a QB kick a field goal before. When people point out that it has been done in the past, it's not them skating away from the facts, it's you skating away from the truth.
Just a note. TCU had a player play at both QB and kicker in 1970. Busty Underwood.

KState QB Klein should win it as he brought his team to win the conference, he has a better record than Manziel, he brought his team to a BCS game, he put up good numbers with WAY less talent around him and OL not nearly as talented or athletic. He has been playing hurt all season, he has been simply amazing. His leadership is beyond anything Manziel has given. However they'll give the Heisman to Johnny Football because of the SEC and his stats. I believe though the QB behind Manziel could of done what Manziel did.

I don't thik the old school Heisman voters are ready to select a freshman, no matter the situation. In spite of what they say, the Heisman award seems to reflect excellence for more than one season of on-field performance.

[font=Arial'][font=Arial']What I didn't post was that immediately prior to creating this thread I had just watched a multi-minute (6 - 8 minute I would guess) piece that was dedicated to showing aTm faculty, coaches and students delivering various one liners that all began with the phrase "I once saw Johnny Football...". It was unadulterated self-promotion, it felt like a presidential campaign commercial. (Note that I hate political commercials).[/font][/font]

I don't recall any such campaigning from the Baylor camp for RGIII either. Once again, maybe it existed, but I didn't see it. My feelings may also be colored by the fact that I think Manzell's success has been highly predicated on him playing behind the best O line in college football. I honestly think Boykin looks great (not as good as Manzell mind you) behind that line. I think Klein looks like a god behind Manzell's line. I am willing to bet Manzell will look somewhat pedestrian next year after all those Sr O linemen leave for the NFL, two of which are speculated to go as top ten draft picks.[/font][/font]

I've seen qb's kick PAT's. Usually a clip of one doing it every year
Not to mention ... our own Heisman trophy winner,Davey O'Brien kicked a Field Goal to help beat Carniege Tech in the Sugar Bowl.

If you have never seen a player marketed for the Heisman more then Manziel, I don't think you have been paying close attention. Even TCU put together a stronger marketing campaign for LT years ago that lasted all season. Manziel's hype has been modest and has only been going on a few weeks. I still have my LT 4 Heisman stickers. They are pretty awesome.
