Never have I seen a university market a player more than aTm has been marketing Manzell. It's literally sickening. Lord, they let the guy attempt a PAT for no other reason than publicity. Has any oither QB in college football history EVER attempted PAT? They are trademarking the saying "Johnny Football" (WTH). They're so full of themselves. What next?

Doug Flutie. He drop kicked one in the pros in 2006 or so.

Congrats, you found an example. What you failed to point out is that he was actually a kicker and was able to put it through the up rights, and thus should be attempting kicks. Manzell is not a kicker, as evidenced by his missing the only attempt he ever made. Blanda was a kicker, Manzell kicking was a publicity stunt.

There are more recent examples, provided here. Your original question was answered, and now you are saying 'OK but he's not a kicker". That was not your original issue. It was QB's that kick pats and fg's. Asked and answered.

Wrong. As we saw with Doug Flutie in '84 and last year with RGIII, it is the late bloomers who win a Heisman when there is no clear-cut front runner (altough I would admit Luck was the front runner for most of last year). I recall with Flutie he wasn't even a top 5 mention before his Hail Mary pass against Miami. That year AP ran a weekly "Top 5" Heisman hopeful list and updated the stats of each candidate every week. Flutie was not on that list until AFTER that Miami game. That was the first clue I really got of the strange politics that occur in college football.

He should win the Heisman hands down and aTm should do everything in their power to get him votes. Sounds like a lot of penis envy on here. TCU had an LT for Heisman campaign. I am willing to bet that he had a bet that if they scored a certain amount of points, or scored on a certain play he got to kick the PAT. Heaven forbid that the Ags did something fun. He missed horribly anyway. We should shift our focus to Michigan State and how we are gonna get to kick another B1G teams [Gary Danielson].

No, but GMFP and Sumlin are completely different types of coaches and run completely different types of programs. Patterson is a coach's coach, very strict and business like, not a lot of goofing around (think Bill Parcells)

Sumlin is a player's coach, much more fun-loving, less strict. Two different types of programs/styles, one isn't right or wrong, they can both work.
