Name Your Head Coaching Candidates

I feel like I know even less than I used to about coming up with an ideal head coach candidate. As far as I can tell, the new phenomenon of hiring a "General Manager" to handle personnel matters including 'crootin', is something that is very alien.

IMO talent evaluation at TCU is now as bad as it has ever been. The “process” does not work.

Without checking the lists, I feel like the RB and WR rooms have had plenty of talent, but we have failed at QB and OL.

Honestly GP had a great talent for finding the diamond in the rough, and it feels like that ability is as valuable as ever... If nothing else he'd be a fantastic hire as a scout.

One of my all-time fave ESPN moments from the early days when South Carolina and I think Arkansas were both announced as the newest SEC members. An obviously overserved spokesmodel in a plaid jacket from South Carolina finished his remarks from the podium with a full-volume, “Let’s go, Cocks!!!”
That was back when SportsCenter had hilarious anchors who could write a joke about virtually anything. My recollection is they just let that one breath and permeate.

I think what you are getting at is that people here need to understand is that there are coaches like James Franklin that had a 30 Mil buyout and because VA Tech hired him, Penn state's buyout, was 9 Mil.

I don't think there are schools like Va Tech that will hire CSD. There may be a school in FCS or MAC that help to offset 300k or so. So off of CSDs buyout it might be chipping at permafrost.
