I was told that this photo is a 1947 fund raiser to expand Amon Carter Stadium. The only clue is the faint architectural drawing at the back of the room.

Anyone know if TCU archives would want something like this? It's a large very nicely framed picture.

In one of the Dan Jenkin’s book, Amon Carter built the old upper deck as phase I and planed to have that same upper deck all the way around for a stadium of over 100,000.

if you ever looked at a the concrete under the old upper deck, that sounds very plausible.

I got to go in that locker room back when it was still the visitors locker room. That thing was a dungeon. I don't think they ever did one thing to improve it from when it was first built. And it was only about 6 and half feet tall.

When I started in 1948-49, students, of course, got in free, but extra tickets for family/friends cost $2..40. That was pretty much standard for a few years.
