Myles Garrett - 2014 DE Arlington Martin

I'm at the Whataburger bball tournament and Martin is beating the top-ranked team in Kentucky right now. Anyway Garrett plays on the hoops team and just had a MONSTER dunk while getting fouled. This kid is a solid 240 if not even bigger and he is freaking yoked for a 16/17 year old.

24/7 says he is high on us but he's been offered by every big school in the region including LSU. What are our chances with him?

His older sister is on the track team at TAMU and they are putting the blitz on him apparently. Would suck to lose another big time DL prospect to the Ags.

He doesn't seem to like UT at all though, so there's that.

Fields did say he was going to get Hicks and that Garrett was next.

Not saying it will happen but assuming Hicks doesn't flip again (highly unlikely) he did get him.

What top ranked Kentucky team are you talking about? Trinity?

Ranked 36th overall in first Rivals 100...Timberview's Ed Paris (also big interest in TCU) ranked 38th.

Could be a primo class if the chips fall in our favor.

Agreed. Super happy that we signed the 3 assistant coaches that we did. All 3 are well respected and appear to have lots of charisma.

Now we "just" need to go out and win 10+ games and have Casey win the Heisman and we will look like A&M.

I like our chances with Garrett as the Martin Pipeline seems wide open. Also like our chances with Edwin Freeman from Bowie. Depends on his relationship with Kenny Perry.

So is Kenny Perry on staff with us full time? I assume you can't be a collegiate recruiting coordinator and as HS coach at the same time..

Not sure. He represented Bowie at ASD's signing ceremony last week. I love the coaching hires Patterson made this year - Kenny Perry to develop relationships with Texas Highschool coaches and Coach Luper that has a track record from all over SEC land and Texas.

All 3 (luper, perry, cross) seem like really solid additions to the staff.

I definitely like our first two verbal commits, but I am really hoping for a big splash soon i.e. Garrett, Paris, Simmons, Braden Smith, etc...
