My son was accepted to TCU!

We just got home from the OU game and his acceptance packet was waiting in the mail! Does anyone here pull any (purse) strings in the financial aid office?

I wish I could say the same thing for my daughter. She got her acceptance letter too, but TCU is only about her fifth choice.

I was suprised that he felt so strongly about TCU because he never shows much emotion. Even as his college search was progressing and he was telling me TCU was his first choice, I didn't believe him. Today, when he opened his acceptance letter I saw his hands trembling and I knew he loved TCU. He immediately posted a picture of his acceptance letter on his Facebook page, and I don't think he's ever done anything like that before.

I thought recruiting would improve in the Big XII? We have to start winning these battles if we want to compete week in and week out.

He'll likely get a nice scholly package due to his grades. Try to get him to earn at least 15 hours of AP/CC transfers. Is he interested in being a military officer? DOC youth leader? Are you DOC clergy? Does he play an instrument?

All of these can significantly reduce the overall price of TCU. Additionally, your (or wifes) employer may have a scholarship offer. He could get a job, and some employers offer tuition assistance, freeing up cash for other things.

Congrats. Tell him if he complains about parking, he will lose his car.
