Since their citizens are not allowed to leave the country and are brainwashed into believing everything outside of North Korea is bad and evil and not as good as North Korea, why would they want to leave the country at all to play soccer. And when they do leave North Korea and are treated like VIPs their entire time in South Africa, a country far more technologically advanced, how could they possibly return to North Korea and continue to believe the bull[Deleted] propaganda they are fed on how North Korea is so much better than everywhere else? Do they have propaganda officers traveling with them and spinning things at all times? Will they be silenced when they return to North Korea?

soccer is a source of national pride. The country will likely only air a game if the team wins.
They are not treated like VIPs in SA. They carry their own bags and work out at a public gym.
Several of their players play in other leagues (mostly in Japan) but choose to play for DKPR
