For BSU coach James Whitford, TCU transfer Mickey Pearson was 'too good for us to pass up'

MUNCIE, Ind. — In filling Ball State men’s basketball’s final roster spot ahead of the 2021-22 season, coach James Whitford said he felt he and his staff could be picky.
The Cardinals had a spot available, considering Reggie Jones' doesn't count against the program's limit for the upcoming campaign. Whitford knows he could have held out and not added another as he would recently in Mickey Pearson. If a prospect didn’t match what Whitford was looking for when it came to talent and culture, then the prospect didn’t fit.
