MLive: Michigan State tailback Le'Veon Bell finally gets special award recognition

EAST LANSING — Michigan State tailback Le'Veon Bell was named the College Football Performance Awards Elite Running Back Trophy winner on Friday night, according to a Spartans' press release.
Bell, whose 1,642 yards rushing this season led the Big Ten and rank and the second-best single-season total in Michigan State history, is just the second Spartan player to earn a CFPA trophy since the awards' inception in 2008.
Former Michigan State All-American linebacker Greg Jones was presented the 2009 CFPA Linebacker Trophy.
Bell, who will lead the Spartans (6-6) against TCU (7-5) in the Dec. 29 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl in Tempe, Ariz., is the third consecutive Big Ten running back to win the CFPA Elite Running Back Trophy, joining Mikel Leshoure (Illinois) and Montee Ball (Wisconsin). ...
