MLive: Michigan State football team emerges from contact practices at 'full tilt'

EAST LANSING — The Michigan State football staff has held its collective breath over the past seven practices, as coach Mark Dantonio boldly opted for live, contact practices.

No one was exempt, not even the Spartans' starting quarterback, Andrew Maxwell.

"I was included, you can see, I have the green jersey (worn by Michigan State's offense in the bowl preparations),'' Maxwell said at Thursday's Media Day. "I think that might jump off the page, quarterback goes live, but it wasn't as barbaric or as malicious as it may sound. The offensive line did a good job of keeping off my back.''

And the Michigan State quarterbacks did a good job of showing they are almost ready for the challenge they will face when the Spartans (6-6) play TCU (7-5) at 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 29 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz., in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. ...

Is full tilt the same speed as (deleted) it? Lets see them keep that intensity for a week in Arizona with nothing to do.

Thought we practiced our pillow fighting. Not sure how we will do against those big bad Spartans and their full contact practices.
