MLive: Michigan State football report card, grades; final exam with TCU pending

EAST LANSING — Michigan State football's team has yet to take its final exam.

A win in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl gives the Spartans a 7-6 record — pass.

A loss leaves Michigan State 6-7, the second losing record the past four seasons — fail.

Ultimately, this season comes down to the Spartans (6-6) game against TCU (7-5) at 10:15 p.m. this Saturday at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.

Hope he is correct about the receivers. GP's defenses have eaten up teams lacking big-play receivers.

Pretty tough grader. This team beat Boise State, and beat Big 10 champion Wisconsin, besides some very close losses. I hope he's right about their offensive line, but I also hope our offensive line has improved some this month.
