TCU coach Sonny Dykes sets Big 12 title game as season goal

Fourth-year TCU coach Sonny Dykes said a successful year for his football team would be for the Horned Frogs to reach their potential.
While Dykes isn’t sure what that would look like, he wouldn’t discount his team playing for a Big 12 title this season.
“A lot of that is having these pieces come together,” said Dykes during Big 12 Media Days on Wednesday in Frisco. “I think we’re at a point that if we’re not in the Big 12 championship game, then it’s probably not a successful season. That’s where we want to be. We think we’re a team that year in, year out should be in the Big 12 title hunt. We think this team is capable of doing that. We’ll see how this plays out.
“There are going to be so many factors that go into that. Can we stay healthy? Can the guys come through like we think they can? Can we play at a high level? Can we learn to deal with adversity, success and all the things you have to go through to have a successful season? I like this team, I really do. I like the makeup.”
