Texas Tech’s pass defense seems to have everybody cheering this season, no matter what colors everybody happens to wear.
Douglas Coleman leads the FBS with his eight interceptions, and the Red Raiders’ 13 interceptions as a team are tied for seventh nationally. A bundle of takeaways and other timely defense helped Tech beat West Virginia 38-17 last week despite being outgained in yards.
The Red Raiders also rank last or tied for last in the FBS in pass plays allowed of 30 yards-plus (26), 40 yards-plus (18), 60 yards-plus (seven) and 70 yards-plus (four).
