I read that on the shaggy. I don't believe there is any credence to that, but stranger things have happened in the last few years regarding re-alignment. Still, it is all hyperbole until something more substantive comes to light.

Though FSU, LSU and Clemson plus another would be very nice additions to the Big12 and would solidify a very strong and deep conference, from top to bottom.

This. The SEC has done this so well and even the PAC did this and it has made the 9 game conference schedule not too bad ( the old PAC 1 and USC and the 9 dwarfs jokes had as much to do with the round robin as anything). The SEC played that Mizzo and ATM would be more teams to the slaughter and Sumlin surprised them a lot.

The B12 got tougher by getting TCU and WVU as Texas and BU can admit.....Time for a New Mexico (decent market, good food, good basketball, bad football).....

I don't think anyone, including Bama, has the kind of influence in the SEC that UT used to have in the Big XII.
