Looking at 2010 season

The Frogs have a nice schedule and the talent to go undefeated but will still have to do it. This could be a very special season and I'm looking forward to it very much.

In the casino this morning TCU was posted at 19-1 to win the BCS National Championship. Boise State is 12-1 and Texas A&M is 95-1 just for comparison's sake.

Don't forget BST lost their D Coodinator. Might wind up being a bigger factor than many have accounted for, although those guys seem to move on seamlessly, be it coach or talent transition.

Handling high expectations will again be a big part of the story this year. The 2009 team did a fabulous job (maybe with the exception of the Fiesta Bowl). Lots of leaders back from last year. How much of an impact Hughes and Washington had in the clubhouse and on the practice field, and who will step up to replace them, are two keys. This is Dalton's team now. A lot is riding on his shoulders.

Yeah, I think with Petersen in place it should be a smooth transition, but there is the chance that it's a bit of an issue.

nebraska aTm and OU all come to mind. If you think Texas just automatically has more talent than those teams then I disagree. QB is easilly the most important position and UT has a deficiency there. If you base Texas' "talent" on recruiting rankings then you must remember that arrests and guys leaving early always shave off some of that talent and depth.

You HAVE to be kidding. A&M has as much talent as Texas? I'm not even sure the rest is worth responding to. NOBODY that follows this stuff thinks Nebraksa has as much talent as Texas. Let's say OU and Texas were even last year. Well OU had 7 or 9 guys drafted including 3 of the first 4 or 5 and NOBODY thinks they brought in a more talented class than Texas.

Texas has a deficiency at QB? That has to be a joke, again. You can't possibly mean that. Especially when you listed Nebraksa.

Look at the Texas guys arrested and leaving early. McGee sucks. The two leaving are leaving bc they didn't play and are being replaced by 5-star studs. Not sure why that would hurt Texas' talent.

Really didn't want to have to write a post like this here, but the stuff you posted is just too ridiculous. Texas might lose to Nebraska, A&M and OU, but it won't be because they have more talent than Texas.

It will only potentially be an issue vs. VT and OSU. Their D-coordinator was a big reason they beat us in the Fiesta.

Patterson said D Wash was a leader even his junior year. Replacing a guy like that will be tough. He said it looks like Carder is the one stepping up so far. On offense we have a 4th year starting QB, an O-line full of seniors and some senior WRs. Not worried about leadership there.

I don't think BSU will go unbeaten, and I can't say why except that too often great teams of underclassmen underperform somewhere along the way as seniors or upperclassmen. Unfortunately, the same reasoning will apply to TCU, and we just have to hope the Frogs can weather whatever blows.

I pretty much agree. I do not believe BST will remain unbeaten this year, mainly because they lose the D coodinator and it is just so tough to win out 2 seasons in a row.
OU and a few other teams have done it, but they had the talent to get them by the occasional flat outing. BST doesnt have that luxury.

The only game Boise lost in two years is TCU in San Diego (Poinsetta Bowl by one point ) , right ?
They can darn well go undefeated this season . Let's just press and hope for TCU to go undefeated this season Then we will have the same record they have now . Doesn't mean we've caught their record ,only as good as theirs now .
Go Frogs .

This will be the most difficult OOC schedule they've played within recent memory, however. This is the first time in at least five years that they've played two AQ's in the same regular season. The last two seasons they only had to deal with Oregon and they only had to face Oregon St. in the year they beat OU in the Fiesta Bowl. This is also the first time they've played a full slate against FBS teams. Not saying that guarantees a loss, but they face much higher odds than they ever have before.

2010 schedule:
@Virginia Tech (FedEx Field)
@Wyoming
Oregon State
Toledo
