This implied notion that we have an easier road to a BCS game than teams in the BCS is nonsense. Over the last 10 years, 5 different SEC teams have gone to BCS games(Bama, Fla, LSU, UGa, Aub), half of the Big 12 (Tex, OU, KU, KSU, Neb, Col), over half of the Big 10 (Iowa, OSU, PSU, Ill, Mich, Pur), 5 from the ACC(GaTech, VT, WFU, FSU, Mary), 5 from the P10 (Ore, USC, WSU, OSU, Wash), and 5 from the BE (Cincy, WVU, Lville, Pitt, MiaFl), plus ND.
Even the conferences thought of as top heavy (Pac10-USC, Big 12-OU&Tex) have had numerous BCS representatives over the last decade.
In a BCS conference you have to be first (or second in many cases) out of a dozen teams ... or a half dozen and get lucky in a conference championship game. As non-BCS, you have to be the best (or second best if you consider last year) out of 53, and even then you aren't guaranteed.
