Connor Reich worked out of a jam with runners in scoring position to start the contest and got things going offensively with a two-out single in the home frame of the inning. Courtesy runner Dionte Johnson scored on a double from Austin Blakeley to give Hallsville a quick 1-0 lead after the first inning. The RBI was the 42nd of the season for Blakeley.
 
Reich struck out the side in the second inning and finished with eight strikeouts in the contest, giving him 152 on the season to cap a four-year career at Hallsville with a 34-10 record as he prepares to join TCU this fall.
 
“He’s given us four unbelievable years as our No. 1. You don’t get that too often at a 4A school when a kid comes in as a freshman and becomes the No.1,” Mitchell said. “I’ve never coached a kid that competes like he does. His future is incredibly bright. TCU is getting a great player and I hope they realize that.” ...
