The TCU Football Jerk

After recalling bits and pieces from old or defunct publications like "Football Study Hall" "cornhusker today" along with the old 80s "Hawkeye report" and taking another look at those Nebraska championship teams, today, Tom Osborne is the king of kings of doing more with less. Several national championships after recruiting players to the middle of nowhere and temporary tundra both regionally and in staccato like fashion from California, Jersey, Wash state and other areas, Osborne is the historical King.
Location-wise yes Osbourne did more with less. But not with facilities. For back in the day Nebraskas were top notch. They invented the modern weight room. They had the biggest weight facility in the country in the early 80s. I can remember as a kid reading a long article about how Nebraska had redone everything and how nice all of their football locker rooms, training rooms, meeting rooms, etc. were. They basically started the arms race. I remember UT building the Neuhaus indoor facility at the south end zone of Memorial Stadium not long after. And the race has been on ever since.
