I had the opportunity to buy a few pieces of sports memorabilia from a neighbor who was selling much of his massive collection.

The two signed baseballs I got were Ozzie Smith and Nolan.

Come to think of it I don't have much of anything TCU (Bob Lilly signed mini helmet is all I can think of, along with lots of good memories and some game stubs and things I got from games).

Might need to change that sometime soon.

Cool…two of the signed baseballs I have are Ozzie Smith and Nolan Ryan. Easily two of my favorite players.

My dad let me know about this article. Really interesting.

He also reminded me that she took several pictures of me at Frog Day on the field running "drills" with the players, probably 1984-85 ish, that were featured in I believe either the TCU Alumni magazine or the next year's Frog Day program around that time.

Linda Kaye was an extraordinary lady. For those that didn't know, her name was Linda Kaye. Not Linda. Not Ms Kaye. Always Linda Kaye. She was this kinda quirky, no fuss little lady that was just always around. Always friendly and smiling. The ubiquitous camera around her neck. My whole freshman year goes by and one summer day I'm sitting in the outfield bleachers at Arlington stadium and she's on the field and in the dugout shooting photos. I'm like, what the hell is Linda Kaye doing on the field? That's when I realized Linda Kaye was real deal. She laughed when I told her that story in August.

I remember Linda Kaye shooting from the top of the catwalk at DMC to get an aerial shot of the tip off for a high school playoff game, virtually hanging by her ankles...and with same fearless leaning over the balcony rail at a high school homecoming pep rally, getting the right shot that the yearbook staff might decide to use....Even high school kids held her in high regard....And, yeah, she was eager and willing to sell copies of photos to individuls...pictures such as the score board at Farrington Field when one school beat its arch-rival for the first time in 15 years, LOL....

My family and Linda Kaye were close friends. On Christmas Eve, we'd get together and go to lunch at Pancho's on East Lancaster.
I was about eight or nine and before we left to go eat Linda and I were playing catch with an old Wog football that was rock hard on the ends from being left out the rain for years.
Later that night at a family dinner I could straigthen up without tremendous pain. Went to the ER and discovered I had a nearly ruptured spleen from catching Linda Kaye throws that afternoon.

I think the current philosophy is "catch with your hands, not with your spleen". :)

Have a great picture Linda Kaye took of my youngest son ( who was about 3 at the time) holding Kelly Blackwells hand while walking out on to the field before the Purple-White game… I knew her just a little too…she was terrific, so was Kelly Blackwell!
Was this when Kelly was playing, or after?

I was a student during his entire TCU career; he was a great one. Just looked him up and see that he shares a birthday with Coach P (and my son).
