I was there, 10 rows back from goal line in the Band cut-out section playing (badly) #2 bass drum.
The next week we traveled to Rice.
And lost.

I was driving home to Bedford from a high school game in Irving and turned on the TCU radio broadcast in time to hear the Frogs recovered a Hog fumble to seal the game....1992, I was a chaperone at a weekend youth retreat and missed the momentus upset of UT at ACS...but was present for the 1994 game at ACS against Tech which gave TCU 1/5 of the championship....My luck did improve in the '90s, '00s, and '10s....Missed the 2022 home games because of sciatica and deteriorating disc....The sporting deities just must hate me....

I can relate in a different way. It's always been my plan to play more golf than I do but a 2014 back surgery (after periodic back pain and a busy schedule of coaching sports, etc.) seems to have put a permanent fork in that plan. I can still play nine comfortably and well enough to think that I could be good if my health was better.
