Lebreton's 2013 predictions

Even as a swamp person, LeBreton's observation/prediction carries weight after watching LSU in its bowl game. TCU has a monumental task making first downs against the Tigers unless major improvement occurs in off-season.

Maybe, maybe not

OSU looks like they're gonna be solid next season

Completely agree that they will be solid but our defense will be a year older, wiser, stronger and better while the offense can only improve. The continued three and outs by the offense in Stillwater eventually wore the defense out and had as much with to do with the runaway the game became as OSU's offensive play did. Granted, lots of questions to be answered on offense for us but I expect some of them will be and that we will beat OSU. LSU and OU will be the biggest challenges next year but I expect us to take care of the Pokes. I'd consider it a huge disappointment if we don't (of course, that is with today's circumstances.....Lord knows how things can change).

IMO wouldn't be surprised if they beat us. They are going to be really salty next year... especially with Lunt/Walsh being a year older. I'm hoping Joseph Randle declares... don't think that's gonna happen though.

I'm not sure if you guys are just hedging your bets a bit with this "I wouldn't be surprised if.." talk or if you expect us to lose to them? What are your expectations?

Wouldn't be surprised if they beat us either (or UT, Tech, BU, etc) but I would be pretty disappointed. As young as our defense is and as much promise as they showed this year have prompted me to elevate my expectations for next season. I expect a return to the form of years past and if OSU beats us then it doesn't bode well for a return to the upper echelons of college football. So yeah, I'd be pretty disappointed with a loss to them. I expect us to beat them.

I think I agree with Gil on a 9-3 season. I think one loss is to Bayou Bengals, one to either OU or OSU on the road, and one more at home that we probably should win.

However, it's hard for me to give a fair expectation right now with so much in the air... (what Casey do we get back, how do Gildon/Story/Doctson/Green perform, what's our OL gonna look like, etc).

But without knowing all that, I'll predict 9-3 with the possibility of pushing that up to 10-2 if things shake out our way this offseason.

Yeah, I'm old, and don't get out much...what's that?

It's a drug that allows you to come out of the shadows and walk right up to a couple of girls and smile, dumbly.

I think they want you to think it will give you a rock hard, raging rooster.

What I'm saying is that OSU isn't some game that I expect us to just walk in and win. It's about as much of a coin-flip at this point than just about any other Big XII game next season. They beat us more handily than anyone this season, and we have to go there again.

If I had to pick it right now, I'm not sure which way I'd go. I expect to be very good next season and take a huge step forward, but I think OSU will be greatly improved as well.

By the tone of your original post on this subject, I had the impression this was just some game we should expect to win like Kansas. I gained a lot of respect for OSU this year, they are the only team on the schedule this season that beat us handily both on the scoreboard and the box score. Maybe I just read the tone of your post incorrectly.
