Lansing State Journal: College coaches' salaries on the rise, MSU above national average

A USA Today study of college football head coaches and their assistants released this week shows that Michigan State is paying them in the middle of the pack among their Big Ten peers, yet ahead of the national average.
Mark Dantonio’s assistant coaches combine to make $2,201,000, according to the database – an average of $244,556 among the nine on staff. That puts them sixth in the conference among their peers and above the national average of a little less than $201,000 an assistant, per the study.
USA Today reports that pay rose more than 10 percent for assistant coaches across the country. ...
