Purdue confident in Plummer's ability to lead offense if Sindelar isn't cleared

Mike Carmin, Lafayette Journal & Courier

WEST LAFAYETTE – No Purdue quarterback Elijah Sindelar at Tuesday's practice, at least the part the media was permitted to watch, keeping the fifth-year senior's status for Saturday's game unknown.

If Sindelar isn't available, the Boilermakers will turn to backup Jack Plummer

The redshirt freshman from Arizona is the starter if Sindelar isn’t cleared to play before Purdue plays Texas Christian at Ross-Ade Stadium. Sindelar suffered a concussion at the end of last week’s win over Vanderbilt.

Looking more and more like it's going to be the redshirt freshman, Plummer. He's 6'5" and appears to be more of a 'pro-style pocket' passer.

"Sindelar, the nation’s leader in passing yards, total of and touchdowns, is the preferred choice to face the Horned Frogs and their vaunted defense because of his experience."

What the darn...

Always a little surprised when non-Texas media refers to TCU as "Texas Christian" or "Texas Christian University".
